A room full of students, grades I-IV. A lot, a lot of jesting, discussions, agitation and suddenly a deep silence began to dominate the atmosphere. The light went out and the images on the screen caught the children's attention. One by one, a dentist came to them to tell them the most useful tips or the most interesting information about how to properly treat the mouth cavity.

Thus, we are talking about a team of dentists from the "Omni Dent" Dental Clinic who, in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry of the "Nicolae Testemitanu" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, is conducting an information campaign "The dentist - the friend of the children".

Among the most important ideas mentioned, but also retained by the students from the "Horizontal" Theoretical High School, at the beginning of November, within the dental education lesson, carried out for free, are:
1. It is better to prevent than to treat any dental condition. This saves both time and money.
2. The fear of the dentist must be overcome because establishing a friendly relationship - the doctor gains the patient's confidence, and this one is in a good state.
3. By learning and observing the rules of hygiene in childhood, the student will become disciplined and develop healthy habits, thus preventing not only oral diseases, but also many general diseases.
4. A correct brushing performed twice a day for 2, 3 minutes, using a correct technique, combined with a balanced diet, rich in vitamins and nutrients guarantees the health of children's teeth.

Valentina Curechi, a teacher of Romanian language and literature from Orizont high school, was impressed by the useful information presented, by the interest of the students, but also by the pleasant interaction between the students and the doctors. "Thank you very much for this lesson, for the interesting information and the examples offered, this will surely motivate the children to take more care of their teeth and their proper care. At the same time, I thank you for the gifts offered and for the fact that you are close to people not only in the clinic, but also outside it ”, mentioned the teacher.
"The experience I have gained during the campaign is a very pleasant one, as I love helping people and this brings me satisfaction. It is certainly not easy to teach young children, because it involves the training of skills with great patience, as well as the continuous adaptation to different ages of children. But, nothing compares to the smile and innocence of a child who inspires confidence and cheers any sad person ”, said the dentist, Mihai Coade.

Equally optimistic and benevolent towards children is the student Galina Panuș, who is happy to share her experience. "In my opinion, our activity has aroused the curiosity of the children. I think I convinced them that the dentist wishes them well, being their friend. The fact that we have been looking forward to it, denotes their interest in health, and we have only to guide them. We will definitely visit again, ”Galina Panuș said.

The team of resident doctors, students of the USMF "Nicolae Testemitanu" and dentists from the "Omni Dent" dental clinic, guided by the university lecturer, doctor in medical sciences, Dumitru Sîrbu, who gave the free lesson at the "Orizont" high school are: Mihai Queue, Dumitru Nuca, Adrian Bădărău, Galina Panuș, Pavel Marusev, project coordinator Dorina Arsene.

The students received gifts from the organizers and the campaign partners: information booklet with details on the proper care of the oral cavity, informational stickers, a schedule in which they note the frequency of tooth brushing, toothpaste monsters, Diplomas, but also their teachers received notebooks, mouthwash and dental floss from Sensodyne, Paradontax and Bredent Moldova.

We mention that this is the fifth high school where the campaign "Stomatologist - the friend of the children" has been carried out, which will last until December, 2019 and will inform 2000 children. To date, around 900 children have been informed about the proper care of the oral cavity.
